Having a nice bag or blanket to keep you warm is essential for any survival situation or even camping. Recently as I was searching for a small lightweight bag for my bug out bag I came across the Snugpak Jungle Blanket.
Snugpak is an outdoor company with a reputation of selling high quality, lightweight outdoor gear. They are based in the United Kingdom but provide super-fast shipping in America especially if you order through Amazon. The Jungle Blanket is another lightweight outdoor item that we will take a look at.
SnugPak Jungle Blanket Review
The Snugpak Jungle Blanket is a lightweight and small blanket that fits into a stuff sack provided by SnugPak. This isn’t a sleeping bag as it doesn’t have a zipper but can be utilized inside of one if need be. The SnugPak Jungle Blanket provides antibacterial treatment so that you don’t have to worry about any mold growing on your bag in humid locations. It is also has anti-microbial treatment to discourage odors and reduce the frequency of laundering.
The SnugPak brags that it is wind proof and water resistant. Any water simply rolls off of it. Furthermore if you are in a humid location the dew does not stick to the bag. So you don’t have to worry about waking up in a sticky and moist bag.
While lightweight the SnugPak Jungle Blanket is rated for 45 degrees down to a low of 36. Now most of the time the numbers are off about 5 to 10 degrees. However, after camping in 40 degree weather I can attest that the bag does put the proof in the pudding.

Who is it for?
The SnugPak Jungle Blanket is for anyone that is looking for a small bag/blanket that won’t take up much room in your pack. It is also lightweight at 25 ounces perfect for ultralight packers. The SnugPak Jungle Blanket is also great for those that may live or camp in humid weather as water and moisture rolls right off of the bag.
The SnugPak Jungle Blanket is also great for those that are camping in cool weather. If you are warm sleeper then you will feel comfortable in weather that is 45 degrees or above. You will start to get chilly for anything below that. So it is great for Spring or Fall camping.
After receiving the SnugPak Jungle Blanket I was skeptical how well the bag would keep me warm. The bag was as advertised small and lightweight. When you think about keeping warm you think about having a big heavy blanket. Being that I live in Florida we only get 7 cold days per year. So I had to wait for the perfect day to test it out.
Finally this past week I had a chance to test it out. It fit perfectly within my pack and was easy to take out. The blanket was surprisingly comfortable in 40 degree weather. Now this is Florida 40 degree weather which is much more different than any other 40 degree in the country. This is a wetter 40 degree weather.
Throughout the night the cold air didn’t creep from the ground in between me and in the bag. Neither did any wind seep through. I woke up the next morning surprised that the bag wasn’t covered with the moisture from the humid air. Altogether I would highly recommend this bag for anyone that is looking to pack ultralight and to keep warm in 36 to 45 degree weather.
